CIF Swim: Long Beach Swimmers Compete at Finals

The best of Long Beach high school swimming was on full display this past weekend at Mt. SAC for the CIF Southern Section Finals.

Several swimmers from around the city placed high in their events, led by Long Beach Poly’s Lucas Jue who earned second place in two of his individual races in Division 1.

Jue finished second in both the 200-yard Individual Medley (1:49.51) and the 500-yard Freestyle (4:27.40). Wilson’s Kai Bramble, Keegan Abing, Aidan Conrey, Elijah Vince made a strong showing, finishing tenth overall with a time of 1:25.75 in the 4×50 freestyle relay team. 

Abing also placed in two events, coming in 15th in the 500-yard freestyle and 18th in the 200-yard freestyle.

In Division 2, the Millikan girls swim team finished in 11th place with a team total of 103 points. 

Millikan’ Kylie Montiel placedfourth in the 100-yard Backstroke (57.90) and eighth in the 100-yard Butterfly (58.35). Sienna Ramirez also placed fourth in the 100-yard Breaststroke (1:05.04). Montiel, Ramirez, Lake Fisher and Karina Ruiz finished seventh in the girls 4×50 medley.
