Neveah Johnson, Long Beach Poly Flag Football
Long Beach Poly picked up a massive Moore League win in a 41-0 shutout over Lakewood. Sophomore Neveah Johnson threw four touchdowns on offense and had two interceptions on defense to help the Jackrabbits.
Rene Ortega, Long Beach Poly Boys’ Water Polo
Rene Ortega stepped up when the Long Beach Poly boys’ water polo team needed him the most. In a 16-12 win against Millikan, the junior scored four goals, including three in the fourth quarter which helped the Jackrabbits pull away for the victory.
Jemel Grigsby, Wilson Football
Wilson picked up their first win of the season and handed Compton their first loss in a 41-7 dominance on Friday night. Jemel Grigsby had three touchdowns and nearly 200 yards on offense along with a pick on defense to support the Bruins.
Danny Lopez, Cabrillo Football
Cabrillo won a thrilling game in the classic 710 Rivalry game vs Jordan. Senior Danny Lopez hauled in the game-winning touchdown in the final minute of the 58-48 victory for the Jags

Sidney Hamaker, LBSU Women’s Volleyball
Sidney Hamaker was a key player in Long Beach’s win over UC San Diego, a result that extended their current win streak to 10. Hamaker had 19 kills and six aces across the four sets.
