Wilson senior Simrin Adams recently represented Team USA at the U18 Beach Volleyball World Championships in The Hague, Netherlands, where she and partner Sienna Castillo made an impressive run to the quarterfinals.

The pair dominated the qualifying stage, earning straight-set victories over Hong Kong, Poland and Türkiye to secure a spot in the main draw. Adams and Castillo then went 2-1 in pool play, earning wins over the Netherlands and Argentina to advance to bracket play, where they defeated Ukraine in the Round of 16 before falling to Germany in the quarterfinals.

“Coming into the qualifier, we knew that if we didn’t try our hardest, it could be the end for us, and there’s so much more of this tournament to play,” Adams told FIVB. “So, we just had the mindset of trying our best no matter what, cheering each other on, taking one point at a time, and not worrying about the outcome – just having fun. So, I think that helped us get through.”

Adams is heading into her senior year at Wilson, where she’s looking to continue dominating on the sand alongside partner Sadie Calderone. Together, they have led Wilson to four consecutive Moore League team championships, including a CIF championship in 2025. Adams and Calderone have also captured the Moore League individual pairs title in each of the last two seasons.

The senior has been on a steady upward trajectory since taking up beach volleyball in high school after playing indoor since the age of nine. Her appearance with the USA National Team is the latest milestone for Adams, who is focusing exclusively on beach volleyball this year after committing to Stanford last year.
