Thursday was a tough start to the baseball and softball playoffs. The Lakewood baseball team picked up the lone win of the day and the St. Anthony and Compton baseball teams lost while the Lakewood and Long Beach Poly softball teams dropped their playoff openers.
Today we’ve got another full slate of games as local teams get their playoff journey started and the St. Anthony boys’ volleyball team is looking to bring some hardware home in the CIF-SS Division 5 championship.
