St. Anthony boys’ volleyball won a thriller in the CIF Southern Section Division 5 semifinals, punching their ticket to next weekend’s championship match thanks to a win over Bellflower. The Saints dropped the first two sets before pulling off the epic reverse sweep, 18-25, 27-29, 25-18, 25-14, 15-11.
With the win, the Saints (18-7) will advance to the championship next Friday or Saturday against Bishop Diego.
The Saints were led by Griffin Bass’ 16 kills, five blocks and four aces; Jack Furlow’s 13 kills; Austin Luckey’s 12 kills; Noah Furlow’s 9 kills; and Eli Bell’s eight kills and two blocks.
