More than 100 Long Beach entries from five different local high schools will compete in Saturday’s CIF Southern Section Track and Field prelims, most of them in the Trabuco Hills Division 1 prelim (as well as a group in Division 4 at Carpinteria High). The top qualifiers in each event will move on to the following weekend’s CIF-SS Finals, to be held May 16 at Moorpark High.
Long Beach Poly and Wilson are both defending Division 1 champions looking to repeat and the Jackrabbits (44 entries) and Bruins (30 entries) are two of the most well-represented programs in the CIF-SS. Here’s the full list of Long Beach entrants into the prelims:
