HIGH SCHOOL

Addy Everett, Millikan Softball

Millikan clinched a huge Moore League win in a 4-1 victory over the Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits. Addy Everett helped spark the Rams’ offense with a pair of doubles and the go-ahead RBI. 

Katelynn Lewis, Lakewood Softball

Katelynn Lewis had a big offensive day for Lakewood softball in their win against Wilson. The senior went 4-for-5 with two runs, two triples and two doubles.

Jamie Ramirez, Lakewood Softball

Jamie Ramirez was another big senior who contributed to Lakewood’s win over Wilson. The senior Ramirez was in the cleanup spot, going 4-for-5 with a team-high four RBIs.

Simrin Adams and Sadie Calderone, Wilson Beach Volleyball

Simrin Adams and Sadie Calderone became back-to-back Moore League beach volleyball pairs champions. The two dominated their league runs and took down Millikan in two sets to claim their title.

Daunte Bell, Millikan Baseball

Daunte Bell shoved a big game for Millikan against Lakewood on Thursday. Bell threw a complete game shutout, striking out eight while scattering three hits. On offense, he went 2-for-3 at the plate.

Cooper George, Wilson Baseball

Cooper George proved he was Wilson’s ace in a key win over Long Beach Poly. George pitched five innings for the Bruins, striking out seven and allowing just one hit and no earned runs in the victory.

Julian Lopez, Jordan Baseball

Jordan clinched a crucial 2-0 win against Cabrillo behind Julian Lopez’s offense. Lopez hit a two-run blast in the first inning on Bohl Diamond at Blair Field to secure the victory.

Matthew Alcala, Jordan Baseball

Jordan picked up a nice Moore League win against Cabrillo, and Matthew Alcala pitched a gem for the Panthers. Alcala went the distance on the mound, throwing a complete game shutout in the win.

Nina Fife
Nina Fife is a junior at Pepperdine University double majoring in Journalism and English with a writing and rhetoric emphasis. She began working with The562 in the inaugural intern class before being hired as their Social Media Director and now Assistant Editor. Nina is a proud Long Beach schools alum who graduated with valedictorian honors.
