PREVIEW: Long Beach Poly vs Compton in Last Scheduled Game at Vets

The562’s football coverage for the 2025-26 school year is sponsored by Long Beach Poly alums Wendell “WoWo” Moe, Jr. & Tyson Ruffins.

Long Beach Poly hosts Compton tonight in the Jackrabbits’ Senior Night regular season finale. Poly (4-5, 4-1) will also be playing in their final scheduled game at historic Veterans Memorial Stadium, their home stadium for the last 70+ years.

The Jackrabbits could still end up with another game or two at Vets depending on how the playoffs shake out, but for now more than a half-century of history comes to a head as Poly looks to close the season with a win to secure a playoff berth.

Poly could still end up as a co-Moore League champion if Lakewood defeats Wilson, which would force a three-way tie atop the standings (which last happened in 1994 in the Moore League).

Compton at 4-5 overall is trying to get to 3-3 in league and increase their likelihood of an at-large bid, although it’s likely that losses to Wilson, Lakewood and Millikan have put that out of reach.
