HIGH SCHOOL
Jasmyn Munoz, St. Anthony Girls’ Golf
Jasmyn Munoz made history for the St. Anthony girls’ golf program when she captured the Del Rey League Individual title this week. Munoz shot a 116 to move on to CIF Individuals starting tomorrow.
Hailey Stoskopf, Millikan Girls’ Golf
Senior Hailey Stoskopf captured the Moore League Individual title this week. Stoskopf shot a 158 over the three day tournament to be crowned the champion.
Brooklyn Richardson, Long Beach Poly Flag Football
Brooklyn Richardson led the Jackrabbits to a second-round win over Norco. The quarterback threw four touchdowns in the dominant 26-7 victory.
Audrey Baker, Compton Flag Football
The Tarbabes advanced to the quarterfinals with a 25-13 win over Claremont. Junior Audrey Baker did a bit of everything for Compton against the Wolfpack, scoring a touchdown amongst making a slew of big catches along with an interception on defense to go with a pair of pass breakups.
Lila Walters, Millikan Girls’ Volleyball
The Rams moved on to the second round of CIF-SS playoffs after a comfortable win against Summit. Lila Walters had 28 assists in Millikan’s sweep.
Simrin Adams, Wilson Girls’ Volleyball
Wilson dominated Trabuco Hills in their playoff opener. Junior outside hitter Simrin Adams contributed to the sweep with 15 kills on .345 hitting, five digs, three blocks and three aces.
Jah’ashree Moore, Jordan Flag Football
Jordan picked up their first flag football playoff win in a comeback victory over Costa Mesa. Senior Jah’ashree Moore caught two touchdowns and had a pick on a PAT attempt in the 13-6 win.
Ellie and Kennah Iamaleava, Long Beach Poly Girls’ Volleyball
Long Beach Poly has been moving through the CIF-SS DII girls’ volleyball playoffs. The Jackrabbits secured a first-round win over Yorba Linda where Kennah Iamaleava notched 20 kills and 18 digs. Ellie Iamaleave came off the bench in the second set with five kills and three blocks, including two to win the set and the match. In their second-round win against Corona Centennial, Kennah Iamaleava put up 17 kills, 15 digs and six aces while Ellie Iamaleava came off the bench again to get a huge pair of blocks in the upset.
