Nikki Cheshire, Millikan Flag Football
Millikan Flag Football clinched a share of the Moore League title with a huge win over Cabrillo. Senior Nikki Cheshire scored two touchdowns to celebrate the victory on her Senior Night.
Nico Tramontano, Wilson Boys’ Water Polo
Wilson dominated in the Long Beach waters this week. In a massive 22-5 win over rival Long Beach Poly, Nico Tramontano scored seven goals to help his team.
Aleeya Salima, Long Beach Poly Girls’ Volleyball
Long Beach Poly wrapped up their undefeated Moore League season with a win over Wilson to claim the league title. Aleeya Salima helped the Jackrabbits secure the win with four huge kills in the final set, capping off the night with 14 total kills on .480 hitting.
Tommy Pincherli, Wilson Boys’ Cross Country
Tommy Pincherli brought home the gold for Wilson at Discovery Well Park. The senior posted a time of 16:25.95 to earn his second league win of the year.
Nadia Mejia, Wilson Girls’ Cross Country
Wilson Girls’ Cross Country claimed the team title at last week’s Signal Hill meet. Nadia Mejia led the Bruins, running a strong time of 19:11.68 to win the race.
Jordan Montgomery, Lakewood Football
Lakewood took home the Hamilton Trophy for the first time since 2019 with a 3-0 win over Millikan. Jordan Montgomery was a huge part of the win, rushing for 162 yards on 26 carries.
Mack Cooper, Wilson Football
Wilson had a historic night on Friday, taking down rivals Long Beach Poly in a 22-21 thrilling win. Quarterback Mack Cooper had an 80-yard touchdown pass to open up the game before throwing the game-winning two point conversion to secure the victory.
Zackariah Salcedo, Wilson Football
Zackariah Salcedo played a huge role in securing Wilson’s historic Moore League win over the Jackrabbits. The two-way stud lineman had a great game on Friday night, topped off when he forced the game-clinching fumble that allowed Wilson to secure the victory.
