St. Anthony is looking to carry the momentum from its first win of the season last week when they continue Del Ray League play against La Salle on Friday.
The Saints relied on their ground game to get that win last week in a 30-23 victory over Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary, spreading the ball around with four total rushing touchdowns from three different players. Elijah Cooper led the rushing attack with a pair of touchdowns, while Majesty Aupiu and Preston Hochman each had a touchdown rush.
Both St. Anthony and La Salle come into the matchup 1-1 through league play, and the matchup could be the decider in who finishes in third place to earn the last automatic playoff bid. MaxPreps ranks St. Anthony at No. 484 in the state while La Salle is at 574.
Transfer quarterback Jakari Bacot has been leading a balanced Lancer offense for La Salle through the last two games after completing the sit-out period earlier in the season. The junior is averaging 223 passing yards per game through the two contests, with five touchdowns and three interceptions.
Friday will be the Saints’ final home game of the season before they travel to Salesian and Harvard-Westlake to conclude their schedule.
