When Compton and Jordan clash on Friday it’ll be between two teams that are looking to get back in the win column.

Over their last four games the Panthers and Tarbabes are a combined 1-7 with both teams looking to get balance in all phases of the game.

Compton (3-4, 1-2) is coming in after a bye and will have the city excited as the Tarbabes host their first homecoming in their new stadium. In their 2-point loss against Wilson, Compton showed glimpses of what is possible when they finally got to see senior quarterback Leton Washington in action along side junior running back Edward Rivera – who both sat the first six games of the season due to the sit-out period.

Washington showed off his arm with some highlight-reel throws to Rivera and Micah Hawkins and led the charge as the Tarbabes were a two-point conversion away from tying the game against the Bruins.

The duo will look to keep that momentum going after a bye as they mathematically still have a shot for a playoff spot, but need a win against Jordan.

Jordan (1-6, 0-3) has gone through a gauntlet of competition the last four weeks with all four opponents currently projected to be in the division 2-5 playoffs.

In many of the games, the Panthers have fought hard early in the contests – including leading at halftime against Millikan, but have faltered at the end of games as teams pulled away in the second half.

Marcus Williams will be a key figure for Jordan as they will look to keep Compton off balance defensively and open things up downfield for junior quarterback Sama’jay Jackson to find his playmakers.

One of those playmakers, Kani Swisher had a couple catches in Jordan’s loss last week, and he will need to stay involved to open up the run game.
