HIGH SCHOOL

Darius Curry, Long Beach Poly Football

Long Beach Poly QB Darius Curry led Poly to a 70-0 win over Wilson last week and was nearly flawless, going 12/14 for 285 yards and five touchdowns, with just one pass attempt in the second half.

Jordan Anderson, Millikan Football

One week after suiting up at QB due to injury, Millikan receiver Jordan Anderson was back at his natural position for his team’s win over Lakewood; Anderson had three touchdown catches in the victory.

Jacob Hernandez, Jordan Football

Jordan’s Jacob Hernandez had a kickoff returned for a touchdown and an interception returned for a touchdown in the Panthers’ win over Compton.

JoJo Fuamatu, Long Beach Poly Volleyball

On senior night, Poly senior JoJo Fuamatu helped lead the Jackrabbits to a big emotional five-set win over Wilson. Fuamatu was the emotional spark for Poly and also had eight kills in the win.

Jade Epps, Lakewood Volleyball

Lakewood clinched a repeat Moore League championship last week with a sweep of Millikan. Jade Epps had a match-high 12 kills in the victory.

COLLEGE

Zayna Meyer, Long Beach State Volleyball

Zayna Meyer averaged 12.22 assists per set to go along with 2.56 digs per set, 0.89 blocks per set, and 0.89 kills per set, while hitting .313 (8-3-16) last week. Against CSUN she had a career-high 62 assists.
