Jake Cammarata is a Millikan senior with a background in graphic design. He has been playing sports since he could walk. Now he is a four-year varsity athlete for the Millikan Golf Team. He is excited to cover all student-athletes in Long Beach.
We went to the last Millikan softball practice on Thursday before the Rams play in their first CIF Southern Section championship game since 2005 and we talked to coach Michelle Lehr, pitcher Victoria Byrum, pitcher Ava Schaffel, catcher Cami Lara, center fielder Erica Estrada, third baseman Ari Ramirez and first baseman Katie Knarr.
Millikan played two very different Moore League softball games in the span of 24 hours this week. On Wednesday, the Rams needed 10 innings and a game-winning RBI from Maya De Sota to break a scoreless tie and beat Poly.
