HIGH SCHOOL

Loren Webster, Wilson Track & Field

Wilson’s Loren Webster was the top qualifier in the long jump at the CIF-SS Masters Meet, with a leap of 19-03.25. She also ran the anchor leg on Wilson’s 4×100 team, which qualified fifth out of the Masters Meet.

Kaylin Edwards, Wilson Track & Field

Wilson’s Kaylin Edwards was the top CIF-SS Masters Meet qualifier in the 300 hurdles (42.03), the second qualifier in the 100 hurdles (14.11) and ran on the Bruins’ fifth-qualifying 4×100 relay.

Julius Johnson, Long Beach Poly Track & Field

Long Beach Poly freshman Julius Johnson had a busy day at the CIF-SS Masters Meet. He ran legs on Poly’s 4×100 and 4×400 relays, which qualified second overall, and also qualified for State in the 200 in a second-place time of 21.25.

Ben Harris, Long Beach Poly Track & Field

Long Beach Poly freshman Ben Harris continued his excellent track season, qualifying second in the 100 in 10.43 and third in the 200 in 21.27 and also running on Poly’s second-place 4×100 team.

Jason Parra, Millikan Track & Field

Millikan senior Jason Parra was the second qualifier in the 3200 at the CIF-SS Masters Meet with a time of 8:49.02 and third qualifier in the 1600 in 4:10.92.

COLLEGE

Jasmine Leovao, Long Beach State Golf

Sophomore Jasmine Leovao joined Kay Hoey (2005 and 2007) as just the third LBSU women’s golfer to qualify for the NCAA Championship finals. Leovao matched Hoey’s low round of 73 on Friday before finishing in a tie for 114th among the 156 competing golfers at Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
