The Long Beach State women’s basketball team upset No. 3 UC Riverside in overtime to advance to tomorrow’s Big West Tournament semifinals, 83-75.
The Beach got off to a quick start with a 21-10 lead after the first quarter and played through a nailbiting second half to get to overtime, where they won the extra period 14-6. They were led by Patricia Chung’s 20 points, Jada Crawshaw’s 17 points, and 13 points from Savannah Tucker.
The Beach will face No. 2 UC Irvine in the Big West Tournament semifinals on Friday at 2:30pm, with live broadcast coverage on ESPN+.
