HIGH SCHOOL

Kadence Lloyd, St. Anthony Basketball

St. Anthony junior Kadence Lloyd had a double-double 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Saints in their semifinal win.

Nyemah King, Lakewood Basketball

Nyeman King continues to be the city’s top scorer, putting up 28 points in both of Lakewood’s CIF-SS quarterfinal and semifinals games last week to earn a trip to their first-ever CIF-SS championship game. 

Jovani Ruff, Long Beach Poly Basketball

Jovani Ruff had 24 points including a game-winning 3-pointer against Corona del Mar to put the Jackrabbits back in the CIF-SS championship.

Jojo Wicker, St. Anthony Basketball

Jojo Wicker led the way for the Saints with 16 points in their semifinals win, which puts them in their first CIF-SS title game since 2000.

Michael Gutierrez, Lakewood Soccer

Lakewood sophomore Michael Gutierrez scored the only goal of the semifinal in a 1-0 win for Lakewood; it’s Gutierrez’s fifth of the postseason.

COLLEGE

Sydney Woodley, Long Beach State Basketball

Sydney Woodley set a new career-high with 21 points to lead Long Beach State to a win over CSUN on Saturday. In addition to her 20-plus point performance, Woodley added seven rebounds, six steals, and two assists in the contest.
