PREVIEW: Compton Girls’ Basketball

Compton is back for another season with one goal in mind: bouncing back.

The Tarbabes had a disappointing season last year, sometimes not having enough players on their team.

“It was kind of difficult, we didn’t really have enough players,” senior Ruby Valdivia said.

Valdivia and other Compton players went around the school recruiting potential basketball players. Despite last year’s challenges, the Tarbabes are positive about the upcoming season.

“Hopefully, we’re able to win this year and do better,” Valdivia said. “We’re going to try our best.”

Compton is banking on their team chemistry to lead them to success.

“We know each other and we’re fond of each other,” Valdivia said.

The Tarbabes kick off their season Wednesday, as they travel to Harbor Teacher.
