Tough one tonight for Long Beach State as they drop their 7th in a row. Long Beach native Derek Valdez came in to finish off the win for the Rainbow Warriors, covering the final 2 innings and getting a K to end it.
VIDEO: It was a wire-to-wire Moore League opener between Long Beach Poly and Jordan Friday, as Will Trunnelle delivered a game-winning two-RBI single in the seventh before throwing the final out in the bottom of the inning.

Cool moment in the 8th inning as Hawai’i brought in Long Beach native Derek Valdez to pitch, and he got to face his younger brother, Damon, a freshman catcher for the Dirtbags.
The Valdez fam was understandably excited about it lol

Isaiah Magdaleno strikes out the side in the 6th and is only getting stronger for Hawai'i. That's 9 punchouts for the junior righty who has retired 9 of the last 10 Dirtbags he's faced. But at 107 pitches, he's surely done for the night.
