Long Beach Poly Alum Colin Geer Qualifies For USA Swim Olympic Trials

It’s been a heck of a 2023 already for recent Long Beach Poly alum Colin Geer.

Geer led his Long Beach Poly team to a historic Moore League title, signed with Michigan, won CIF-SS and CIF State titles, and was named the city’s top high school boys’ athlete in our All-City Awards as well as at the Century Club’s year-end annual Sports Night banquet.

Last weekend he added another major accomplishment: qualifying for 2024 USA Swim Olympic Trials.

Geer earned qualification at the LAI Invite at USC over the weekend with a 2:02.75 time in the 200 IM, his signature event.

The Trials will be held in Indianapolis in June of 2024, with the top American swimmers qualifying for the Olympic team headed to Paris that Summer. The 200 IM men’s heats will be held June 20 and the Finals will be June 21.
