Another school year in the books! The 2022-23 sports season was one to remember, and we’ve now eclipsed 5 years as a non-profit news outlet in Long Beach. As we close this latest chapter and look ahead to another year of sports and education reporting in our community, we’re asking for your support to keep The56.org going strong!
Tyler Hendrickson was born and raised in Long Beach, and started covering sports in his hometown in 2010. After five years as a sportswriter, Tyler joined the athletic department at Long Beach State University in 2015. He spent more than four years in the athletic communications department, working primarily with the Dirtbags baseball program. Tyler also co-authored of The History of Long Beach Poly: Scholars & Champions.
