Janelle Morris, Long Beach Poly Softball

Poly freshman catcher Janelle Morris had three hits including a 2-run HR in the Jackrabbits’ 12-0 win over Wilson. Morris is one of a trio of highly-ranked freshman who’ve raised expectations for the softball team at 1600 Atlantic.

Angelina Kim, Long Beach State Golf

Angelina Kim was the individual champion at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in Hawai’i, shooting two-over across 54 holes with a score of 218 and winning a playoff against teammate Hannah Ko. In the process, Kim was the first individual winner of a tournament other than the Big West Championship for LBSU since 2015.
