HIGH SCHOOL

Nathan Brava-Partain, Long Beach Poly Golf

Poly sophomore Nathan Brava-Partain was the medalist at last week’s match between Poly and Wilson; he shot a one-under round of 35 at Big Rec.

Myles Patton, Millikan Baseball

Senior lefty Myles Patton pitched a complete game shutout for Millikan, getting two huge strikeouts to finish off the 1-0 win over Wilson last week.

Anthony Eyanson, Lakewood Baseball

Lakewood senior Anthony Eyanson led his team to a 2-0 win over Poly last week, pitching a complete game shutout giving up just three hits, and also scored the first run of the game for the Lancers.

Bella Alonso, Long Beach Poly Softball

Poly senior Bella Alonso helped lead the Jackrabbits to a 3-1 win over Wilson, striking out seven in a complete game effort and stranding six runners for the Bruins.

Samarra Monrroy, Wilson Track & Field

New Wilson star Samarra Monrroy looked good in cardinal and gold, dropping a smooth and easy 56.08 in the 400 against Poly; Monrroy’s 54.58 is the fastest time in California this year.

Lauren Reed, Long Beach Poly Track & Field

Poly senior star Lauren Reed easily won the long jump and triple jump during last week’s meet against Wilson. Reed is in the top ten in the CIF-SS in both jumps events and sprints for Poly as well.

COLLEGE

Katie Kennedy, Long Beach State Beach Volleyball 

Kennedy went 5-0 last weekend to help lead Long Beach State to a 5-1 record at the Big West Challenge, hosted in Long Beach; Kennedy and her partner only dropped one set in the five wins.
