HIGH SCHOOL

Kensley Flynn, Avalon Volleyball

Junior Kensley Flynn had 12 kills and 7 blocks in Avalon’s quarterfinal win over California Lutheran. Flynn’s leadership at the net has powered the Lancers to the CIF-SS semifinals once again.

Maya Alvarez, Millikan Tennis

Millikan senior Maya Alvarez has wanted to be the Moore League champion her entire career, but had never made it to the final match. This year she did, and claimed the title with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Vanessa Holden of Wilson.

Tacario Davis, Millikan Football

Millikan senior Tacario Davis, an Arizona commit, had a Senior Night to remember for Millikan last week. Davis’ two touchdowns helped lead Millikan to a win over Wilson and the Moore League’s second seed.

Jalen Johnson, Long Beach Poly Football

Long Beach Poly senior captain Jalen Johnson had an interception returned for a touchdown, a sack, and three tackles to lead Poly’s defense to a shutout of Lakewood, allowing just six total yards in the game.

Gray Carson, Wilson Water Polo

Wilson senior Gray Carson is the country’s best high school water polo player, and the UCLA commit closed his Moore League career with a bang. His 10 goals against Millikan powered Wilson to their 14th consecutive league title.
