While Poly and Wilson were knocked out of opening round matches on Tuesday, Millikan (Division 3) and Avalon (Division 9) both advanced to the second round with wins. Lakewood is in Division 1 and is still awaiting their opening match of the bracket, a quarterfinal on the road next Wednesday.
Millikan defeated St. Margarets Episcopal on the road in a five-set thriller, and will travel to Orange Lutheran Saturday at 6 p.m. Avalon swept Newbury Park Adventist and will hit the road for a Saturday, 1 p.m. match at Packinghouse Christian in the second round.
