Tyler Hendrickson was born and raised in Long Beach, and started covering sports in his hometown in 2010. After five years as a sportswriter, Tyler joined the athletic department at Long Beach State University in 2015. The Avalon High 8-Man football team got back to winning ways on Saturday with a 40-8 victory at ACES. Jason Campos, Jose Silva and DeAngelo Reyes ran the ball hard for Avalon while Cristo Hernandez and Beto Martinez anchored the defense. Avalon hosts St. Michael’s Prep on Saturday at 1 p.m.
