CIF Soccer: Millikan Beats Newport Harbor On The Road

Millikan boys’ soccer won its first round CIF Southern Section Division 1 playoff games for the second consecutive year by beating Newport Harbor 2-0 on the road.

Rams defender Christian Palacios came forward to score the first goal in the 15th minute off a long throw from Donovan Espinosa that Issac Chavez flicked on goal.

Millikan doubled its lead in the 50th minute when Chavez scored off an assist from Samani Villanueva on a breakaway.

The Rams (12-4-2) have to travel again in the second round on Saturday to play No. 1 seeded Cathedral.
