Long Beach State Men’s Golf Wins Big West Championship

The Long Beach State men’s golf team won the Big West Conference Championship team title on Tuesday with an 858 for 6-under par. The Beach was the only team to shoot under par in the three round event and finished seven strokes ahead of second-place UC Davis.

Sophomore Clay Seeber was runner-up individually at 2-under par with a 71 in the final round. Senior Hunter Epson, Tyler Schafer, Hunter Reed and Isaac Rodea all finished in the top seven.

LBSU also qualified for the NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championship that starts with regional play on May 17-19. The top five teams (30 teams total) and the low individual not on an advancing team from each regional site (six individuals total) will advance to the National Championships at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., hosted by Arizona State.
