Moore League Boys’ Soccer: Millikan, Wilson Win Big Games

Millikan grabbed hold of the top spot in the Moore League on Wednesday while Wilson found an upset at home and Jordan played Lakewood to a scoreless draw.

Wilson 2, Long Beach Poly 1
The Bruins bounced back from a tough run of games and came up with a big upset at home. Wilson took the lead in the 15th minute on a Danny Cervantes goal created by a Raymond Garcia turnover and assist. The Bruins doubles their lead in the 51st minute when Alan Cornejo finished a rebound off a Cervantes free kick. Poly’s Luke Brown scored late, but Wilson goalkeeper Octavio Reyna stopped a penalty kick in the second half to secure the victory.

Jordan 0, Lakewood 0
The Panthers couldn’t move up the standings after a hard fought scoreless draw with the Lancers on the road.
