The 2019-20 boys’ basketball season should be one of the most exciting of the last decade for Long Beach sports fans. There are two legitimate, ranked Division 1 programs in the city with Long Beach Poly and St. Anthony, something the town hasn’t seen since Ron Massey was coaching at Jordan. Between budding stars like Poly’s Peyton Watson and up-and-coming talent at Millikan and Compton, there’s plenty for fans to look forward to–five of the eight teams open the season ranked in CIF.
