Deishuan Booker, Long Beach State Basketball

The Long Beach State men’s basketball team hasn’t had the season they were hoping for to this point, but the 49ers did get off to a 1-0 start in the Big West with a win over UC Davis on Saturday. That was thanks in large parge to Deishuan Booker, who had 32 points in the win on 6-11 shooting, going 19-20 from the free throw line.

Naomi Hunt, Long Beach State Basketball

The Long Beach State women’s team also didn’t have the nonconference they were hoping for, but they also got off to a 1-0 start in conference play. The 49ers went on the road to UC Riverside and won a defensive game, 63-45. Hunt played 38 minutes and had 11 points, six rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and three steals in the win.
