Dirtbags Drop Series Opener At No. 8 Texas A&M

Despite scoring first the Long Beach State Dirtbags (5-9) lost the first game of the weekend series at No. 8 Texas A&M 3-1.

LBSU junior Jarren Duran hit a double on the first pitch of the game, and he scored on an RBI single from freshman Chris Jimenez. Duran had three of the Dirtbags’ three hits.

Dirtbags starter Clayton Andrews pitched seven strong innings with a career-high 10 strikeouts. The lefty allowed a pair of runs, one earned, in the seventh inning.

LBSU will send sophomore Zak Baayoun (2-1, 2.21 ERA) to the mound to face Texas A&M lefty John Doxakis (2-0, 1.17 ERA) at Noon PT and the game can once again be streamed live on WatchESPN via the SEC Network.
