HIGH SCHOOL

Dylan Williams, Long Beach Poly Football

Long Beach Poly linebacker Dylan Williams, a USC commit, has helped anchor a Jackrabbits defense that’s put up three straight shutouts. He also had a one-handed interception in Poly’s win over Cabrillo.

Ryan Pellum, Millikan Football

Ryan Pellum went crazy in the Rams’ win over Compton, with nine catches for 245 yards and three touchdowns in the victory, including a couple of highlight-reel grabs.

Brady Simon, Wilson Water Polo

Wilson goaltender Brady Simon had seven saves and only allowed two goals in three quarters of work against Long Beach Poly last week in a game that puts the Bruins in line for another league title.

Cameron Rhone, Long Beach Poly Cross Country

Long Beach Poly senior Cameron Rhone ran a great race at Signal Hill last week, winning the individual title for the second time this year in league with a 15:43 mark over three miles.

Avery Peck, Long Beach Poly Cross Country

Long Beach Poly freshman Avery Peck continued her impressive debut campaign with a second individual league win, taking the top mark at Signal Hill with a 18:59 time.

COLLEGE

Jonathan Watson, LBCC Football

Vikings running back Jonathan Watson had a huge game on Saturday in a one-score win in LBCC’s conference opener. Watson had 34 carries for 241 yards and four touchdowns in the win.

Lena Silano, Long Beach State Soccer

Long Beach State’s Lena Silano continued her historic season with an eye-popping five goals in two games last week, both wins for the Beach. Silano had a hat trick on Friday then a two goals on Sunday.

Jaylen Jordan, Long Beach State Volleyball

Long Beach State had a pair of five-set wins last week, and Jaylen Jordan came up big in both of them, with a pair of double-doubles. She had 22 kills and 13 digs against UCSD and 13 kills and 13 digs against UC Irvine.
