Girls’ Basketball: Long Beach Poly, Millikan Wins Set Up Showdown

Long Beach Poly and Millikan both won on Wednesday night to set up a first-place showdown between the two highly-ranked teams on Friday at Poly at 5 p.m.

The Jackrabbits defeated Wilson 65-44 behind 20 points and 10 rebounds from Lily Buggs and 21 points from Ashlee Lewis. Wilson was led by Ashley Hawkins’ 21 points.

Millikan defeated Lakewood 68-58 to remain undefeated in league as well, coming back and then pulling away late against the Lancers after Lakewood star Asia Jordan fouled out.

Poly and Millikan are both 5-0 in league ahead of Friday’s showdown.
