The Long Beach Poly girls’ volleyball team (27-7, 10-0) wrapped up its regular season with a bang on Wednesday night. The Jackrabbits won a rematch of the CIF-SS Division 1 championship by going on the road and defeating Redondo Union in five sets, 27-25, 19-25, 15-25, 25-17, 15-11.
It’s the Jackrabbits’ first win over Redondo in several years, as they were once again led by a strong service effort with 13 aces.
UC Irvine commit Kennah Iamaleava led the way with 22 kills on .468 hitting and 17 digs, Avery Milburn had 17 kills, and Aleeya Salima had 12. Illinois-bound Cika Talaga had 22 digs.
Poly and the other Long Beach playoff teams will find out where they’re going tomorrow afternoon when the CIF-SS playoff brackets are released. We’ll have live updates on the website.
