Long Beach Poly locked down a big 10-1 win against Jordan on Wednesday night. The Jordan Panthers started strong, taking an early lead thanks to an RBI from sophomore Talin Velazquez, but they couldn’t get past the arm of Ryan King.
On the bump for the Jackrabbits, King pitched six innings, only allowing one hit and striking out five. Wolfgang Geye closed out the game for Poly, sending the three batters he faced back to the bench. This strong pitching outing was supported by the Jackrabbits big night on offense, where they tallied up 11 hits to support their double-digit score and ultimately come away with the win.
Poly had their biggest offensive showings in the second and third innings, where they combined for seven runs alone. Jordan and Poly will both jump right back into action, with the Panthers hosting the Millikan Rams on Friday and the Jackrabbits traveling to Norwalk on Thursday.
