A big Moore League boys’ golf showdown took place today when two undefeated league teams teed off at Recreation Park Golf Course. Wilson hosted Millikan in a fight for first place, where the visiting Rams came away with a tight 199-201 victory.
This win keeps Millikan undefeated with a 4-0 Moore League record after the first half of league play. The Bruins dropped to 3-1 after the tough loss but remain competitive as they gear up for the second half of season.
For the Rams, junior Tyler Carmichael and senior Gabriel Romero both shot a 38 to lead Millikan to the win. On Wilson’s side, they found a bright spot in young freshman John Schroeder, who put up a 38 for the home team, as well.
Millikan will open the second half of league play tomorrow when they host Lakewood at El Dorado Golf Course. Wilson will get a break and return to the green April 14th against the Lancers, as well.
