No. 10 Long Beach State held on for a 10-8 win over No. 16 UC Davis on Friday night, led by a terrific performance from freshman goalie Polina Synytsia. In the Beach’s Big West opener, Synytsia racked up 22 saves, setting a new single-game record at Long Beach State.
The Beach raced out to a 5-0 lead early and held a 7-1 advantage at the break before the Aggies made their comeback to make things interesting.
LBSU is back at home on Sunday at 11 a.m. hosting No. 5 Hawai’i.
