The last Long Beach teams standing in the girls’ basketball postseason are both in the CIF Southern Section Division 4 bracket.
After thrilling victories on Saturday, Jordan and Wilson are still in the hunt for a potential all-Moore League championship for the ages.
Jordan, the top seed in the bracket, had a long trip to Lancaster for a second-round contest and trailed 23-6 at halftime before mounting a furious comeback in the second half to defeat the Eagles 36-32.
The Panthers will be back on the road on Wednesday when they travel to La Canada to face the Spartans.
In Westlake Village, the Wilson Bruins erased a four-point halftime deficit to force overtime thanks to a third quarter where they outscored Westlake 10-6.
The Bruins’ defense did what they needed to, shutting out the Warriors 7-0 to come away with a 56-49 victory.
Sophomore Emily Alvarez-Smith scored a team-high 14 points, while Kaylee Mascarinas and Jordyn Jefferson both scored in double figures with 13 and 12 points, respectively.
Wilson will be back home for the quarterfinals as they take on El Dorado.
