It’s been a roller coaster season for the Compton boys’ basketball team.
With high hopes before the season started, the Tarbabes have played the waiting game as they got athletes eligible throughout the season. Compton finally got their roster together on Jan. 14 when Karim Beverly was cleared.
Now that they have their full roster, the Tarbabes have won two straight Moore League contests including an 85-72 over Jordan Monday night.
Jaelyn Baker-Nelson led Compton with a double-double scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds. Along with Baker-Nelson, Zai Williams (14), Beverly (13), Xavier Goodlow (13) and Roman Sims (12) all scored in double figures to lift the Tarbabes to the win.
Compton is now in position to get to a .500 record to try and get an at-large bid for the playoffs.
They have five contests remaining and sit 11-12. They’ll host Long Beach Poly Wednesday before heading to Lakewood on Friday to take on the Lancers.
