Long Beach Poly competed in a doubleheader against Cabrillo and Compton on Thursday night, closing the event with victories in every boys and girls dual. Poly defeated Cabrillo 58-16 on the boys side and 69-5 on the girls side, then followed with wins of 84-0 and 78-0 over Compton.
The night opened with the girls lineup against Compton. Multiple forfeits gave Poly an early advantage, which was quickly reinforced when Bowie Digregorio secured a pin in the opening bout.
That momentum carried through the remaining matches as Poly maintained control across both duals. Selieni Paseka and Berlynn Solia-Tago turned in strong performances that helped keep the pace steady and the lead intact.
Poly completed a sweep of Compton on the girls side before shifting its focus to Cabrillo. The Jackrabbits carried the same rhythm into the next dual, staying composed despite the quick turnaround.
Against Cabrillo, only three girls matches were contested due to additional forfeits. Those bouts were tightly fought, with both teams battling for points throughout. Riley Pestanas delivered the highlight of the dual in a hard-fought match against Juliana Reyes, capping a strong showing for Poly.
