As The562 turns its attention to the winter sports season, we are excited to announce our newest sponsor of local sports coverage in Long Beach.
All of The562’s coverage from the 2025-26 boys’ and girls’ soccer season has been sponsored by former Long Beach Poly goalkeeper Kennedy Justin, Class of 2023.
“As a proud Long Beach native, I’m excited to give back and support The562’s soccer coverage this year,” said Justin of her support. “I have a ton of great memories from my time at Poly and competing in the Moore League, and The562 played a big part in capturing and preserving those memories. I’m happy I can help continue that for the next generation of Long Beach soccer.”
Justin was a standout performer as a Jackrabbit, named the Moore League’s co-Goalkeeper of the Year as a senior in 2023. Since then, she’s gone on to the University of Hawai’i, where she became the first freshman ever to be named the Big West Goalkeeper of the Year.
She joins an ever-growing list of athletes who appeared in The562’s coverage and have returned to support the organization, along with names like Joel Bitonio, J.P. Crawford, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Jayon Brown, John Ross, and John Timu. Justin is the latest current collegiate athlete to sponsor The562’s coverage, joining former Poly High classmates Tyson Ruffins and Wendell “WoWo” Moe, Jr., who sponsored the high school football and Long Beach Poly coverage for this school year.
“We’re so grateful to Kennedy for her support of our soccer coverage this season,” said The562’s publisher, Andy Kerr. “It’s been incredible to see so many former athletes give back to support our nonprofit and keep local sports coverage alive in Long Beach.”
