Ki’ele Ho-Ching, Long Beach Poly Softball

Oklahoma commit and Long Beach Poly junior Ki’ele Ho-Ching had a pair of home runs in the Jackrabbits’ semifinals matchup, going 3-for-3 with three RBIs and three runs.

Nick Galluccio, St. Anthony Baseball

St. Anthony junior Nick Galluccio led Saints’ quarterfinal win off with a hit and scored the first run. He also pitched the last three innings in the victory.

Kween Tauala, Long Beach Poly Softball

Kween Tauala was 4 for 4 at the plate with two RBIs and two runs for the Jackrabbits in their quarterfinal victory, powering a dominant offensive effort.

Benny Lane, St. Anthony Baseball 

Senior Benny Lane came out of the bullpen to pitch 6 innings and then hit the walk off homer in the 12th inning for St. Anthony, wearing the Superman cape for the Saints in their second-round win.

Deven Munoz, Long Beach Poly Baseball

Deven Munoz was the latest walk-off hero for Long Beach Poly, delivering the first one of his life to send the Jackrabbits to the quarterfinals.

An LBC native, Mike Guardabascio has been covering Long Beach sports professionally for 13 years, with his work published in dozens of Southern California magazines and newspapers. He's won numerous awards for his writing as well as the CIF Southern Section’s Champion For Character Award, and is the author of three books about Long Beach history.
