Boys’ Basketball: Wilson Holds On For Road Win Against Downey

The Wilson basketball team went on the road and found themselves in a battle Monday night against Downey.

The Bruins were up 13 with three minutes remaining when the Vikings started to chip away at their lead.

Wilson overcame turnovers and free throw troubles as they held on to defeat Downey, 61-60 in their season opener.

Noah Jaramillo lead the Bruins with 15 points while Nehamiah Parris also reach double figures with 12 points. Fresh off the football field, Brooklyn Vegas scored eight points and Mathew Searles scored seven.

Wilson (1-0) will have their home opener when they host Palmdale on Wednesday with tipoff at 6:30 p.m.
