Ki’ele Ho-Ching, Long Beach Poly Flag Football
Ki’ele Ho-Ching had a huge game against Cabrillo, helping her team clinch a share of the Moore League title. The Jackrabbits shut out the Jags 47-0, and the senior scored Poly’s first four touchdowns on three receiving TDs and one passing.
Mateo Menes, Long Beach Poly Water Polo
The Jackrabbits secured a close 11-10 win over Millikan in the water this week. Mateo Menes helped Long Beach Poly secure the win with a team-high three goals.
McKenna Iamaleava, Long Beach Poly Girls’ Volleyball
Long Beach Poly swept Millikan in a big Moore League matchup this week. McKenna Iamaleava had a match-high 16 kills in the Jackrabbits’ victory.
Tiwan Jones, Lakewood Football
Tiwan Jones has been a star in his senior year at Lakewood. He led his team to a win over Jordan with one receiving touchdown, an interception and a punt return for a touchdown.
Legend Galeai, Long Beach Poly Football
Long Beach Poly clinched a crucial Moore League win against Millikan with a 24-22 final score. Legend Galeai stepped up as the team’s quarterback Friday night, despite playing defensive end all season. The senior was 11/14 for 125 yards and a touchdown in the victory.
COLLEGE
Wyatt McCauley, LBCC Football
The LBCC Vikings picked up a big win on the road behind a huge performance from Wyatt McCauley. The quarterback threw for 305 yards and five touchdowns paired with 62 rushing yards.
Cesar Garcia Solorzano, LBCC Men’s Soccer
Cesar Garcia Solorzano had a huge week for LBCC Men’s Soccer. After recording two assists in the Vikings’ win against ELAC on Tuesday, the forward scored a hat trick in LBCC’s dominant 6-0 win over No. 2 El Camino College. The Vikings are currently tied for first place in their conference with an undefeated 2-0 record.
Elise Agi, LBSU Women’s Volleyball
The Beach picked up their fifth Big West win with a sweep over UC Riverside on Thursday. Elise Agi led all players with 13 kills, nine digs and hitting .440. Agi also recorded 10 kills against the UC Davis Aggies on Saturday.
