The Long Beach Jordan football team is back in action on Friday to wrap up their nonleague schedule against Charter Oak.
Jordan (1-3) is coming off a tough 56-7 loss to Poly last week and will have another tough test against the Chargers. The Panthers will lean on junior Sama’Jay Jackson and senior runningback Marcus Williams to keep the offense moving and keep the Chargers’ potent offense off the field.
Charter Oak (3-1) is led by senior Purdue commit Corin Berry, who is orchestrator for the Chargers’ offense and will test the Panthers’ defense.
Berry has been a dual threat to start this season passing for 809 yards and rushing for 122 yards on his way to 11 touchdowns. Berry’s top target is senior Antonio Reasby who has amassed 358 yards and four touchdowns on team-high 21 catches.
In short yardage situations the Chargers have turned to their senior running back Joel Sanchez who has only 70 yards on the ground, but five touchdowns.
Charter Oak is coming off of a bye week after a 28-21 loss to Corona Del Mar two weeks ago.
