The CIF Southern Section has declared a Compton football transfer ineligible for all CIF sanctioned sports through Sept. 18 2027 – effectively ending the athlete’s high school career at Compton or any other high school in California.
The athlete hasn’t appeared in any contests this season and hadn’t gained eligibility so no games will be forfeited; however, this marks the second Moore League school to have athletes denied via Bylaw 202, which relates to falsifying documents.
Earlier this month, Millikan had eight football players declared ineligible for two years due to similar transfer violations, disrupting its season and forcing the forfeiture of two games. The issue has been drawing widespread attention across Southern California high school sports circles after the year began with Bishop Montgomery having 19 transfers ruled ineligible, several of whom (along with at least one Millikan player) transferred to Arizona schools to try and continue their careers.
The trend highlights CIF’s intensified enforcement of transfer rules, as the Moore League isn’t the only league that’s been impacted. Bellflower recently had two football athletes ruled ineligible for the same reason.
Compton’s football coaches and the CIF-SS have not responded to requests for comment. This is a breaking news story and will be updated as we get more information.
