The No. 6 Long Beach City College men’s basketball team had its winning streak snapped last weekend.
LBCC team opened conference play on Wednesday against Cerritos, and the Vikings (7-11) play two more home games before the end of the month.
LBCC has relied on balanced scoring this season with four players averaging double digit points per game. Sophomore guard Kaylin Brown has a team-high 12.9 points and sophomore forward De’Brianna Hampton is averaging a team-high 7.5 rebounds.
The national letter of intent signing day is coming up in a few weeks, but a pair of LBCC football players signed in the early window last month. Freshman quarterback Jonathan Murphy and sophomore offensive lineman Jeremiah Paulo both inked their national letters of intent to attend Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Paulo was All-Conference First-Team last season, and Murphy was All-Conference Second-Team. The Kennesaw State University Owls are a NCAA Division I football program.
