PREVIEW: Millikan Girls’ Water Polo

There’s plenty to say about how good Wilson and Poly were last year, but Millikan had one of its best seasons since winning the Moore League title in 2006, and the Rams are hungry for more this season.

Millikan got off to an 8-1 start under coach Jose Guzman, with the only loss coming on a one-goal nail-biter to Aliso Niguel. The Rams have been playing well enough to be moved up a CIF-SS Division, and they’re ranked No. 8 in Division 4.

“We want to do better than previous years as far as our league record and how far we advance in CIF,” said Guzman. “We have a lot of potential to be a strong competitive team.”

Guzman is blessed with a strong senior class led by Grace Arnsparger, Sofia Bouzarif, Makayla Farrell, and Alexa Ramirez.

Millikan opens its Moore League season this Wednesday against Cabrillo, but has a big test on Friday as they host Cerritos.
